We’ve joined herds with the good people at Keep New Zealand Beautiful (KNZB) to help, well, Keep New Zealand Beautiful! KNZB is all about creating a better New Zealand by doing our bit to keep it clean, green and beautiful and we can help them do that in so many different ways.
From picking up trash to planting more trees, there’s heaps we can do together to help keep New Zealand sparkling clean and ultimoootley do our bit to protect the environment and prevent climate change.
Litter might seem like it’s not really that big a deal, but it’s more than just an eyesore on the streets and in our parks – it’s actually really bad for our dear old environment as a whole. Thrown away without thought, it pollutes our waterways – lakes, streams and rivers – and can upset ecosystems all over the world.
We want to protect this fragile piece of rock we call home and if you’re like us, you’re thinking “What can I do to make a difference?”. As the kind of people who love Ben & Jerry’s, we know you’re pros at keeping things beautiful anyway, but here’s a couple more things that you can do to help us to get moooving!
In May, we want to get Kiwis mooo-oovving and help look after the community that supports Ben & Jerry’s in Ponsonby! In keeping with the belief that a business has a responsibility to the area surrounding it, Ben & Jerry’s and Keep New Zealand Beautiful will be working together to keep our communities clean, safe and in top notch condition. That’s why we’re calling on all our fans to #scoopitup by getting together and helping clean up Ponsonby’s Parks!
So sign up today, come along to Point Erin Park at 10am on Saturday 14 May and help us #scoopitup and Keep Ponsonby Beautiful! Hey, we might even swap your scooped up litter for a free scoop of the sweet stuff afterwards…!
Plant a tree, give one for free!
We love those big ol’ trees and what they do for the environment, so join us in June and let’s show them just how much we love ‘em! We need your help to get planting and regenerate Narrow Neck Beach. Ben & Jerry’s is all about giving back so we’ll donate a seedling for every volunteer that helps us plant a new forest. For more information and to keep up to date, sign up below and we’ll let you know when we’re ready to get planting.
